Ricky Pinela

Social Media Fellow

Ricky Pinela is a social media manager and content creator based in New York City. Growing up in Florida, he always knew he had a passion for the ocean and marine life. Ricky attended the University of Central Florida, where he studied Broadcast Journalism and Sociology—but found his interest in the social media space along the way, realizing the true potential of using the internet to reach a mass audience.

Since then, he has interned and worked at multiple companies, including Bilt Rewards, The New Yorker, Brut America, Orlando Sentinel, Billboard, and Rolling Stone. He currently works as a content creator for Slice, highlighting hard working pizza shops around the country, and as the host and producer of the popular TikTok interview series, “Bop or Flop.”

With his background in journalism and social media, he hopes to combine his work and passions to spread the word on the importance of conservation.
