Julie Sullivan
Project Manager
Julie holds a BS in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston Island and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. She has over 15 years of experience in conservation and ecological restoration. Julie comes to Island Conservation from The Nature Conservancy, where she spent seven years directing and managing projects along the Texas coast to create, protect, and enhance critical habitats including rookery island enhancements, oyster reef restoration, and shoreline protection projects. Prior to that, Julie was a Preserve Manager at the Mad Island Marsh Preserve, a coastal prairies and marshes conservation project on the Texas Gulf Coast where she optimized the wetlands and native prairies to benefit a suite of at-risk grassland birds and maximize waterbird habitat diversity. Julie lives for all kinds of adventures – especially anything in a paddle craft, traveling, river trips, scuba diving, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, motorbiking, birding, fishing, and the like.
