These are still challenging times. In addition to the global pandemic, we are aware of the many current acts of hate and violence, now also, aimed at Asians and Pacific Islanders in the US and around the world. Island Conservation is a global organization and our work is inextricably linked to the well-being of island communities, partners, and supporters. Our board, leadership, and staff remain focused on incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into our perspectives, processes, policies, and actions. We continue to evaluate our own contributions to perpetuating unjust systems and the opportunities we have to change them. And we seek to find ways to support the Asian and Pacific Island communities as well as other communities and partners everywhere we work.
Below are some of the resources we found helpful in understanding the issues as well as empowering us to take action against hate and violence. The work to undo racism starts with each of us.
