Gift Acceptance Policy
Island Conservation is committed to preventing extinctions, restoring island ecosystems, and preserving biodiversity with special attention to the human communities that depend on these resources and are disproportionately impacted by their loss. Island Conservation will, with full transparency and due diligence, evaluate all potential gifts with attention to whether the gift donor’s business or personal dealings negatively impact any of the above or would erode the public’s trust in Island Conservation. The principal basis for making a gift should be the desire on the part of the donor to support the mission, programs, and objectives of Island Conservation. We will not accept gifts from individuals, foundations, or corporations that have an explicit or implicit quid pro quo. Island Conservation will not accept charitable contributions from unlawful sources.
